  • Not Included: Sanding or stripping of cabinets back to raw wood is not included in this estimate – that can be done at $80/hr
  • High-Gloss Finishes: This tool does not estimate work done with a high-gloss finish – that is done at the hourly rate of $125/hr.

  • Our Process: Drawer faces and cabinet doors are safely removed and finished at our professional shop. Cabinet boxes and end panels are prepped and painted beautifully in-place. We use zip walls and Festool sanding systems to keep your home as dust-and-debris free as we can, and we clean up after ourselves when we’re done.
  • Prep: Cabinets and drawers must be empty prior to starting the project. Countertops must be cleaned off. We will mask off your counters, floors, appliances, etc – but we do not move appliances to paint cabinet panels unless requested and homeowner accepts full responsibility.
  • Coverage: This quote covers the exterior faces of doors, drawers, boxes, and end panels. It does not include the cabinet interiors or shelves.
  • Hardware: We will happily reinstall your hardware. Please note that some cabinet hinges may require post-paint adjustments by a professional carpenter.
  • Condition Note: Pricing is based on basic cabinets in good condition. Damaged cabinets or jobs requiring extensive ding/scratch filling will incur additional costs.

Why Paint Cabinets Instead of Replacing?

There are several reasons why you might consider painting your cabinets instead of replacing them entirely:

Preserves good cabinets: If your cabinets are structurally sound but just look outdated, painting is a great way to give them a new lease on life.

Budget-friendly: Painting cabinets is significantly cheaper than replacing them. When you hire a professional painter, it will cost less than half the price of completely replacing your cabinets withe new ones.

Environmentally Friendly: Painting your existing cabinets keeps a significant amount of wood out of the landfill. Contrary to popular belief, its sometimes quite hard to remove old cabinets without damaging them. You may intend to pass them on, but on average 50% of the cabinets you want to “save” end up damaged and in the trash.

Faster turnaround: Replacing cabinets can take weeks, while painting them can usually be done in a week or less. This means less disruption to your kitchen and your daily routine.

Dramatic update: A fresh coat of paint can completely transform the look of your kitchen. You can choose a new color or finish to match your current style, or to create a whole new look.
